Amazing Grace, Duration: 4 hours

2019

Durational performance at eye lounge Gallery, Phoenix, Arizona

Part of the installation exhibition, UnWind: A Satire, Amazing Grace explored how structural bias is cultivated. Within sheer organza walls, I share hand binding using bias tape. Another performer sings Amazing Grace from the other side of the organza wall.

In Conversation

O'Reilly's Auto Parts

16045 N Cave Creek Road

Duration: 15 minutes

In Conversation was an interactive storytelling performance in which I attempted to intervene a gendered space with a nongendered story. The performance was only complete when the audience contributed a story as well, thus creating a community space.

Sanctuary Cloud

Frontal Lobe Gallery, Phoenix, Arizona

Sanctuary Cloud installation and performance satirically considers intellectual property. A shadow cast by the installed cloud was marked in chalk. I performed as a security guard to stop anyone from entering the shadowed area without paying in advance.

This is Now

Durational performance, 4 hours

Live Art Platform, Arizona State University

Tempe, Arizona

During this performance, I attempt to insert the feminine onto a male garment to create a less gendered political uniform. I invite others to help me shred my hair into small particles. Using a gel medium, I paint the hair onto a white shirt and suit jacket with a pin of the flag of the United States.

Performance for the Camera

Phoenix, Arizona

Questioning the threat of death, I attempt to embrace end of life without attempting to involve any after life beliefs into my performance. Threats related to loss of eternal life are disregarded by disabling speech while the interior of the mouth explores the hardness of a small skull.

Dreams caught in a net of reality

2009

Performance

Duration: 30 minutes

Paradise Valley Community College

I drag a net by my neck as it becomes increasingly burdened with house hold and office related objects typically considered to belong to a woman. I resort to pulling as my neck becomes so heavy I struggle to breathe. I try to travel across the gallery toward a waiting easel. This work explores patriarchal assignations of gendered roles.
